Rod Ends

Sometimes referred to as a heim joint in reference to the first North American manufacturer, spherical ball joints were originally designed for use in military aircrafts. Today they are commonly used on control rods, steering links, tie rods or any other connection that requires an articulating joint.

Ball joints rod ends consist of a casing with a threaded shaft and a ball swivel with a center opening for connecting a rod, shaft or pin. Some styles have a liner to create tension in the joint, reducing noise by preventing it from loosely shifting. Some rod ends come with complete assemblies with a threaded mounting stud or quick disconnect options.

Reid Supply offers both metric and imperial ball joints with right or left hand threads in your choice of male or female rod ends. We have standard, heavy duty or quick disconnect styles and a wide assortment of ball diameters and rod lengths.
