Couplings

Couplings are used to connect a driving and non-driving shaft together, connect separately manufactured mechanical parts, provide a means of disconnection for maintenance, or to reduce the transmission of shock from one shaft to another.

Rigid couplings are used to connect precisely aligned components. This type of connection maximizes performance while reducing shock and wear at the point where the shafts meet.

Flexible couplings are much more forgiving than rigid couplings. They can be used to connect two components that are slightly misaligned. This style of coupling can also be used to dampen vibrations and reduce noise.

Coupling Sleeves & Hubs provide protection to drive trains during extreme overload, jamming or high shock situations by dampening vibrations, absorbing load pulsation and minimizing drive line shock.[more][less]
Coupling Halves & Inserts require two three-jaw shaft halves and an insert to complete a coupling. The coupling insert options include oil-impregnated bronze for high torque loads at slower speeds, rubber for quiet operation at motor speeds, and polyurethane for moderate to heavy shock loads.
