Compression Cam Latches

Cam Locks are commonly referred to as quarter turn locks because they use a key, barrel key, handle or knob to turn the pawl 90 to catch on the frame panel. This style of lock is often used to close and secure cabinets, lockers and containers.

Compression Latches are similar to cam locks, in that they latch in a ¼ turn; however, an additional quarter turn is used to draw the pawl into the frame, compressing gaskets between the door and frame to create a seal that helps to prevent dust or water from entering enclosure. Compression locks are used meet IP and NEMA standards. They are also used to reduce vibrations. We offer several styles that are adjustable and even the fixed depth compression latches are quite tolerant and can be used on a range of panel thicknesses.
